Lunar Eclipse Watch at John Clyde Preserve

Join us at John Clyde Preserve on August 27 for a late-summer night under the stars as we watch the Moon slip into Earth’s shadow. We’ll be there from 9:00 p.m. until after midnight, building toward the peak of the partial eclipse, with 98% of the moon covered—and no telescope is needed to enjoy the show. In fact, a lunar eclipse is best appreciated simply with your own eyes, although binoculars can add a great view. Bring a comfortable chair or blanket, dress in layers as temperatures cool, and consider bringing a warm drink, snacks, and insect repellent so you can settle in and enjoy the eclipse at your own pace. Come for an hour or stay through the peak—this is one night sky event you won’t want to miss!
